Many people are unaware of the "going rates" freelance writers charge and therefore, tend to be surprised when writers give a quote. This is especially true of people hiring Web writers, since many people are unaware of the work involved in writing and editing Web content. Using the rates listed in 2006 Writer's Market, I have created a
comparison rate table (below) to show you how my rates compare with
other freelance writers. Writer's Market is a reference guide freelance
writers use to determine what to charge for their services. The rates
listed in the table below were retrieved from the 2006 Writer's Market
and are "based on input from sales finalized in 2004 and 2005 only. The
data is generated from voluntary surveys completed by freelance members
of numerous professional writers' and editors' organizations and
specialty groups."
My rates are highlighted in yellow. As you can see, my rates are 25
to 45 percent less than the average rates charged by writers. Rates
quoted assume copyright remains with me. Please contact me for rates if
